january

We have big news in January! Logan is now using the POTTY and wearing big kid underpants!!! We've been casually trying to get her to use the potty since before she turned two. She definitely knew when she needed to potty, she just was not interested in sitting on the potty. I'd ask her who used the potty at school and she'd immediately say, "Not me." She just was.not.interested. So, one day about 3 weeks ago, I ended up taking Logan to the pedi for a large, swollen bite on her belly. That ended up being nothing but a fire ant bite, thankfully. But, while we were there, the dr asked logan if she was using the potty. Logan didn't say much, but she sure was listening as the dr told her she was way too big to wear diapers and that she needed to sit on the potty. The following day, I decided to put her on the potty and she went. She also said that she wanted to wear panties. So, from then on, she's been wearing panties! We've had few accidents and she'll go hours (3) before needing to potty. She's is pretty proud and so are we! Logan has asked us several times if we'd call the pedi and let her know that she's using the potty! We think that's pretty hysterical. Who knew that it just took a talking to from the pediatrician?!
Miles is pulling up all over the place and a few times we've seen him stand without holding on to anything. As soon as he realizes what he's doing, he sits down. He has a yucky cold right now. He's had it for about 2 weeks now. Poor bud. I did take him to the dr because he is prone to ear infections. Thankfully, he doesn't have one right now. I'm hoping he can kick this cold soon, because he is so miserable!

Since I've been neglecting the blog recently, I have lots of pictures from january. Here are just a few...

10 months

Miles turned 10 months old about two weeks ago. It's amazing how busy he is! He also knows what he wants and gets very upset if he can't have it. This most definitely includes all of Logan's toys, or basically whatever he can get his hands on. He now has two teeth (on the bottom) and no hint of anymore to come right now. He's very into puffs and cheerios and pretty much anything he can pick up and put in his mouth. All that I've really given him is pasta, sweet potatoes and puffs. We're working on the sippy cup, but that's definitely a work in progress. He is pulling up on everything, but isn't really cruising. Crawls very quickly and has figured how to "skate" with his knees on all the hard floors while crawling.

He can honk the horn on the tractor all by himself!

He's a pretty big guy. That's a 12-18mth outfit and he's almost too long for it. He has learned that he can stand at the back door and play with woogy.
He also LOVES his sister. ADORES her.
eating puffs. He will stuff at least 4 in there at one time.

More loving on big sister.

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas. We spent several nights with jordan's parents and on Christmas day, went to my parents' house. We even got to spend some time with my grandmother. She drove all the way from macon all by herself to spend time with us!

Miles and mommy. Poor boy doesn't have any shoes on. So neglected!
Miles was very interested in the gifts. More specifically, he enjoyed playing with all the ribbon.

Practicing standing up. He's getting so big!

Logan enjoyed 'fishing' on Christmas eve. She stayed outside forever with her stick fishing pole.
And she's off!
Christmas Morning
Logan was pretty funny Christmas morning. She slept in the room with us. We thought she'd sleep in, but evidently she was more excited than we thought. She got up at about 6:45am and said something about santa being here. She walked over to our bed and we told her to get back in bed. That pretty much didn't work, so our plans of sleeping in were scratched. Her little face was so funny when we walked out into the family room. She saw her train table and was very excited. We decided not to wake Miles up. We didn't think he'd care too much. He was also pretty excited to see what Santa brought for him when he woke up.

This is one of my favorite pictures from Chrismas morning. All Logan wanted for Christmas was a sucker. Sometimes she'd add a candy cane, too. If you asked if she wanted a toy, she'd say, "No thank you. Just a sucker." This girl wanted NO TOYS! Of course, santa had to bring toys, but he also put suckers and candy canes in her stocking. Once she dug in her stocking, she had to take a break to eat one. In this picture she's double-fisting those suckers. She is crazy about suckers!

This was too funny! Miles wasn't exactly sure what he was doing, but he thought it was fun. Logan was a good sport and let him crawl all over her.

I have a feeling there is much more of this to come and it won't be as cordial!

Logan got twin cabbage patch baby dolls
and a tinkerbell dress-up outfit. She's not really quite sure what to think of it...

Logan loves to pick out her own outfits. Don't worry, we don't leave the house like this (often.) =)
Miles was enjoying watching big sister's shenanigans.
This is what Miles was watching. Logan was having a blast sliding and running down this little hill in my parents' yard.

She is a wild girl.

pre-Christmas activities

So, it's been a little while since I last posted. I do have an excuse! I left the cable for the camera at my parents' house, so I didn't have a way to upload pictures. Never fear (mom), I have the cable back and we're in business.

We went to the tree farm we usually go to to get our tree. We left empty-handed; all of their trees were pitiful. We did, however, get a free hayride! Logan thought it was great. We actually ended up getting our tree at lowes. Blasphemy, I know.
Isn't this a fabulous-looking Santa? I think he is one of the best ones I've ever seen. Both kids sat happily on his lap. Well, Miles got a little bit upset once he realized that I was in front of him and not holding him.

A rare family photo. We need to get better about taking pictures together. Logan is thoroughly enjoying her hot chocolate.

9 month stats

Miles had his 9 month checkup today.
weight 20 lbs 12 oz 50-75%-ile
length 29.25in 75-90%-ile
head cir. 18in 50-75%-ile
cbc panel done to check iron levels and all look great.

Overall, a great checkup. He definitely is not a fan of lying on the exam table. It's funny how they remember and associate things at such a young age! His next checkup will be at one year. (one year?! time has flown by!)
