end of summer fun

Wow! Have I been such a negligent blogger?! I have good intentions, but I'm too good at procrastinating.... Oh, I'll update the blog tomorrow...

Anyway, here are some pictures from the end of September. One would think that would be the end of summer, but 'round here it's been in the high seventies recently!

Pictures from the end of September.

Miles knows how to turn the water on and off.

so thirsty!

If I can't find Miles, this is where he usually is. Reading books.

Don't you hang out naked in a box in your room, too?

trip to macon

We went to macon in september for a family reunion. It was a quick trip, but fun to see family.

Logan and Miles sitting with Mimi before bed.
Logan and cousin Abby. Logan was loving abby's leapfrog video game. Maybe santa will bring one to Logan. ???
Miles also wanted to sit with Abby.

Logan was concentrating on the "bih-yo" game (video game)

big 18 month old boy

I've been meaning to write this blog post for a while. Obviously, since Miles is now 19 months old! In late september, he had his 18 month checkup. He got a few shots and took them like a champ. No tears! He's just such a big boy! Of course, his poppie (pacifier) was there to help him out. This boy still loves his pacifier. He only has it at nap and nighttime, or during certain instances like shots. =( One surefire way to get him in his room for nap time or bedtime is to ask him if he wants his poppie. He'll stop what he's doing and waddle/run to his room! He's talking up a storm. We are certain that he's talking more than his sister did at this age. And, if you know logan, then you know what a chatty cathy she is! This boy blows us away with the things he can say at such a young age! He is also so funny. He is not short on personality, that's for sure! He is not eating as well as he used to. He has a mind of his own and knows what he wants to eat. He still loves broccoli and green beans. Logan loves them too... We're not complaining about that!
He looooooves books. He loves them just as much as logan did at this age. If one or both kids are missing, you're sure to find them in one of their bedrooms reading a book. Miles' favorite spot is in the glider in his room. I love it that they love to read so much!

princess party!

Logan was invited to her very first princess dress-up birthday party. It was so cute seeing all the little girls in their princess attire! Logan dressed up as tinkerbell since we don't have a princess costume. She didn't seem to mind!

Watching the birthday girl open gifts and wearing her tiara she decorated.

having yummy snacks
enjoying a birthday cupcake!

serious about her cupcake

having her picture made with the birthday girl while she opened logan's gift.

Logan had such a fun time at her friend's birthday party!

meeting baby oliver

I just love seeing new babies. Especially those of such dear friends! Baby Oliver was born on august 17 and is just the sweetest little thing. Jaime is such a good mama!

Nan and I were able to see jaime and oliver in augusta.
Nan is getting back into newborn mode... she's expecting #3 in Nov. She's also a dear friend of mine and an excellent mama!
Lelia got to hold baby oliver, too.
sweet boy!

first day of school!

Logan and Miles started school in September. Miles is in a one year old Mother's Day Out program and Logan is in a three year old preschool. They go two days a week for three hours and they love it (well at least they both do now!) Of course, Logan had no issues at all; she was very excited to start back to school. And, Miles was fine at first until he realized I was leaving him there! He would cry at first, but with the help of his pacifier, he would get over missing me very quickly. His teachers said they were always able to get the pacifier back from him with 20 mins or so. After two weeks, he didn't need his pacifier and he was walking in the room himself! He really loves it!

I really think this may be the only non-professional picture I have of the two of them together smiling!

sad that this picture is a little blurry... she's smiling!

silly boy didn't know that mama was about to leave him! ;)

usopen

Jordan and I went to the usopen this year! We left on a fri and came back on mon. I think we walked the entire island of Manhattan in 2 days! We saw tennis fri afternoon and sat and sun nights. We saw a few good matches... I was bummed that we didn't see federer though! I won't bore everyone with our touristy pics... I just posted a few of us (self-portraits) and a couple of the stadiums just for perspective. Arthur Ashe is definitely large!
