big girl bed!

We decided to convert Logan's crib to a toddler bed today. With her turning three next month (!!!), we decided that we needed to go ahead and do it. I didn't really want to because she sleeps so well in her crib, but knew that it was time. When we visit both sets of grandparents, she sleeps in a big bed just fine, so we're thinking the transition should be pretty smooth. Logan was pretty excited about sleeping in a "big bed" and was grinning when it was time to get in the bed. So far, we haven't heard a peep from her!

helping daddy

trying out her new bed. miles is also pretty excited about it. soon, he'll figure out that he can climb up there with her. pretty sure there's going to be some screaming going on about that...
She's so big!

She was jumping and singing, "No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

daddy and his babies

We thoroughly enjoyed a very lazy weekend. We didn't go anywhere and it was so nice! This morning, the kids spent at least 45 minutes in the chair with jordan.... which, is definitely a rarity! Logan will sit for a while if you're reading books to her, but Miles will not sit still for very long ever. He is way too busy these days.

Logan is still in her pjs (that she picked out herself) and enjoying a box of raisins. Raisins are one of her favorite snacks. Please note the dog attached to jordan's arm. That's woogy and he has a serious nibbling problem. He's been recently put on valium, but we've yet to see any improvements with his nervous habits!
And here they are again a little later in the day. Jordan was trying to read them a story but he kept falling asleep. Seriously?!

Logan had to start reading the stories herself.

snow!

We had snow! Lots of snow (for us, anyway!) It came down pretty quickly and pretty much melted by the end of the following day (today.) But, it sure was pretty and fun. This is the kind of snow I like.... pretty to look at for one day and melts the following day! Logan had a blast playing in the snow and really enjoyed eating it! She and jordan even made some snow ice cream!
Friday evening. It started coming down around 4pm.

Logan was thrilled that it was 'stowing.'

Miles wasn't too sure about all that stuff flying in his face.

We walked down our street. Logan held onto her snowball and ate it the entire time.

Delicious!

We think we had at least 4". That's a lot for us!

Miles enjoyed the snow much more today since there wasn't any snow actually falling anymore and getting in his face.
Oh, snow is just so yummy!

snow angel!

pottying at school!

Logan has been potty trained for about a month now. Just this past Thursday, she finally used the potty at school! She got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest for such a big achievement. She is very excited about her ice cream bubbles! We're so proud of her. She's been completely in panties pretty much the entire time (with the exception of nighttime.) Way to go Logan!

recent fun

So, Jordan was supposed to be watching the children... Logan brought him some teddy bears to nap with.
Eating can be a full-contact event!
a RARE sweet sibling moment. Miles has nothing but love for Logan. Logan, however, does not share the same sentiment. She loves to be a little mommy... "no brothers, don't hit" etc... basically she says, "No brothers" followed by whatever bossy thing is appropriate at that time.
a few pictures of Logan actually being still Recently, she runs when she sees the camera.

Eating pasta
wooohoo! Daddy gives the best laundry basket rides!

They've started taking baths together. It actually works out really well. Of course, the no splashing rule only applies to Miles. Logan can splash all she wants. Or, so she thinks. She like to tell him, "No splashing brothers!" as she proceeds to splash him. poor miles.

january

We have big news in January! Logan is now using the POTTY and wearing big kid underpants!!! We've been casually trying to get her to use the potty since before she turned two. She definitely knew when she needed to potty, she just was not interested in sitting on the potty. I'd ask her who used the potty at school and she'd immediately say, "Not me." She just was.not.interested. So, one day about 3 weeks ago, I ended up taking Logan to the pedi for a large, swollen bite on her belly. That ended up being nothing but a fire ant bite, thankfully. But, while we were there, the dr asked logan if she was using the potty. Logan didn't say much, but she sure was listening as the dr told her she was way too big to wear diapers and that she needed to sit on the potty. The following day, I decided to put her on the potty and she went. She also said that she wanted to wear panties. So, from then on, she's been wearing panties! We've had few accidents and she'll go hours (3) before needing to potty. She's is pretty proud and so are we! Logan has asked us several times if we'd call the pedi and let her know that she's using the potty! We think that's pretty hysterical. Who knew that it just took a talking to from the pediatrician?!
Miles is pulling up all over the place and a few times we've seen him stand without holding on to anything. As soon as he realizes what he's doing, he sits down. He has a yucky cold right now. He's had it for about 2 weeks now. Poor bud. I did take him to the dr because he is prone to ear infections. Thankfully, he doesn't have one right now. I'm hoping he can kick this cold soon, because he is so miserable!

Since I've been neglecting the blog recently, I have lots of pictures from january. Here are just a few...
