I have not forgotten about you! Here are a few pictures of Miss Logan.

A quick little update: As of yesterday, Logan is now out of the infant car seat and is in the convertible seat. This means she now has to sit in the buggy at the grocery store and highchairs in restaurants. I think she will be very excited about this. She has become very interested in talking to other people while we are out and about. We were at the mall on Saturday and enjoyed "talking" to several people. She is a social butterfly.... definitely her mother's daughter!

Logan is very good at sitting now and is working on getting up on her hands and knees. She has started to rock some and we think she will be crawling soon! Also, she has decided that nighttime is the perfect time for a party. For the last few nights, she has been waking up about an hour after we put her to sleep. She is ready to rock and roll!

Last night, Jordan went to check on her as she had been crying for a little bit. I thought he was changing her diaper and rocking her... Well, I walked back there and Logan was on the floor rolling around and playing with toys. Jordan was just sitting there watching and laughing. You can tell, he is already a strict disciplinarian. =)

It is really too funny because she will do anything not to go back to sleep! Hopefully, this is just a little phase and she will be back to sleeping 12+ hrs straight at night.

Christmas festivites

We finally finished decorating our tree on Saturday. Here it is in all it's barely 6' glory. It's the smallest tree we've had yet, but I kind of like it. I put every single ornament we have on it, even though it is a smaller tree than we typically get. I think it looks nice.
As a precautionary measure, Jordan anchored the tree to the baseboard with some fishing line. Of the 3 years we've been married, our tree has fallen twice. Two years ago, the first year it fell, we blamed it on the cat. Last year, we didn't have anyone to blame it on. I was sitting on the couch one morning and I heard a noise. Right as I turned around, the tree fell almost ripping out the chandelier with it. Thankfully, only a few ornaments were broken. Jordan has decided to blame the tree mishaps on the tree stand. I'm still not convinced of that theory.

This afternoon, we went to the local Christmas parade. It was very cute to see all the floats and the children. Logan's favorite part was the high school marching bands. She was very excited and was kicking her legs and making all kinds of noises when they came by.

Tonight, we went to the 'Lights Before Christmas' at the zoo with our neighbors across the street and next door. The weather was actually fairly mild, not nearly as cold as I thought it would be. Logan was quite toasty in her Eskimo suit. She thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the lights and the children.

reading books

Logan enjoys having books read to her. She seems to like looking at the pictures and also "helping" to turn the pages. Here, Logan and Jordan are reading, Guess How Much I Love You.

One a side note, Jordan has become quite the bookworm these days. He has read at least 2 or 3 books in the last month! This is the same boy that would start a book only to put it down after a few chapters because it was too boring. If he wore glasses, I would have to call him 'four-eyes.'

Logan meets a friend!

Over Thanksgiving, Logan and I finally got to meet baby Lelia. Lelia is my friend, Nan's babe. She is about 5 weeks younger than Logan. She's such a cutie pie! I think Logan enjoyed meeting Lelia, too!

My mom had big plans for Logan to wear her pilgrim hat and sit at the table in her highchair for Thanksgiving dinner. However, Logan had a slight meltdown and had to rest while we ate.
This is her little Thanksgiving dinner of sweet potatoes. She thoroughly enjoyed eating them while banging on her highchair with a ring from her favorite stacker toy.

I will have to post a picture later of Logan in her pilgrim hat. The pictures must be on my parents' camera.

We spent Thanksgiving in Augusta with my parents and brother. We had a good time with lots of yummy food. Logan began sitting on her own on Thanksgiving day. She's such a big girl!

Logan has a new funny face. Here it is in progression.

She loves to do this while eating. It makes for a fun time. Heck, add in some 'raspberries' (think blowing bubbles), and you've got a bona fide mess. Good times!

Logan had her 9mth 'well baby visit' yesterday. She is really only 8mths old but she already had an appt to check her weight and length, so the pedi decided to go ahead and make it her 9mth checkup.

length: 26"
got her first flu shot and will go back in a month for the second one.
Overall, the dr said Logan is doing well and we will go back at one year for more shots, yay!

A day at the zoo

On Saturday, we went to the zoo. We have been before but this time it was more fun because Logan was really interested in what was going on. We held her so she could see the animals. We think she liked it. Also, please take note of her outfit. Jordan dressed her for the occasion in her giraffe shirt. He even completed her outfit with a bow! What a nice daddy!
( For those of you that don't know, Jordan cannot stand it when I put bows in Logan's hair. Logan loves bows as much as I do!)

It's hard work...

...being eight months old!
I cannot believe that Logan is already eight months old. I never really thought time would go by this quickly. It seems like Logan took forever to get here and now each day goes by way too quickly. She will be one before we know it!
While playing on the floor today, Logan was almost on all fours. She has been scooting backward for a few days now. I think she will be crawling soon. She gets so mad when she cannot get to her stacker toy... maybe that will be her motivation to crawl.

girls' weekend

Logan and I spent last weekend in atlanta visiting with three of my best girlfriends from high school. We have started to try to have a girls' weekend at least once a year at a different person's house. We had a blast shopping for antiques and eating yummy food. Sarah was a fabulous hostess.

Miss Logan slept in her play yard like a champ. She didn't nap much during the day because she was afraid she might miss something. She's such a girl!

Unfortunately, our friend, nan and her babe, lelia, were unable to attend. We were sad they couldn't come but we're glad they are feeling better and getting over the sniffles.
