three months old and other happenings

Miles turned three months old on tues (6-16.) He continues to be a very sweet, easygoing little guy. He has started laughing a lot more and gives smiles to pretty much everyone. He has started to do 'raspberries' when he gets excited and loves to blow spit bubbles. He has also become much more interested in his hands and tries to put them in his mouth as much as possible. However, he's very much still a pacifier man. This evening at dinner, we put him up on the table in the bumbo seat and he immediately locked in on Logan and started laughing. We're sure this is only the beginning of that! Here are a few pictures of our little buddy.

Ha! I love this picture. It's sweet of Logan giving Miles a kiss, but I really like Miles' expression!

And here below, we have a few pictures of Logan.
Sitting on the potty so she can get a "preat." She didn't quite understand that she had to put something in the potty in order to get a treat. So, at first she was pretty agreeable and wanted to sit on the potty. When she didn't get her "preat," sitting on the potty became less fun. I'm pretty sure we're going to push potty training back for a little bit. I'm kind of relieved because I am not looking forward to taking a toddler into a public bathroom. I, myself, avoid them at pretty much all costs.

And, naked watermelon eating at lolly and papa's. Who knew watermelon stained?! I got sick of scrubbing watermelon out of her clothes, so naked it was. She didn't care a bit... just give her watermelon. She would eat it for every meal if we'd let her.
The "Cheese!" face. Thanks for teaching that to her, Jordan!

a beautiful day for a boat ride

We enjoyed this beautiful Saturday afternoon at the lake. Logan was very excited to ride on grandmama and grandaddy's new boat.

Here she is all ready to ride. Big pink sunhat? check. Scooby-Doo life vest? check. Excessive amounts of sunscreen? check.

This is how brother prefers to roll. Pacifier is a must. This babe is definitely a pacifier kind of guy.

She started out sitting next to Jordan. Of course, that didn't last too long. When you're two, it's hard to sit anywhere for any time over, say three minutes or so.
Miles and mommy enjoying the ride.

She really didn't think it would be cool to sit with mommy
Miles slept most of the time. Funny how babies like loud noises and lots of movement.

Logan decided she would rather be the co-captain.

Yep, this seat fit just right!

a typical day at home

here are a few pictures from yesterday... a typical day at home. Logan loves to pull pretty much all of her toys out. As I'm putting them away, she's busy pulling something else out. Don't you see 'toys r us' in the background? She keeps me very busy. Pretty soon, she will also keep Miles entertained. He's already started watching her. Can't wait until he laughs at her antics. I'm sure she'll think it's great (hopefully, anyway!)

Poor Miles is in the middle of it all.

memorial day zoo visit

jordan's parents and our nephew, everett came with us to the zoo on memorial day. It was a beautiful day, maybe a little warm, but overall we had a great time. Logan is really starting to enjoy the zoo. She was talking about all the different animals she'd seen. If you didn't already know, this girl is a talker. I wonder where she got that from?! Miles enjoyed himself also. He slept pretty much the whole time!

One of my favorite baby items, beco butterfly. If you're having a baby or already have one, you definitely need one of these... especially if you have a toddler! I put Miles in it and am also able to lift and chase Logan around.

two month checkup

Miles had his two month checkup two weeks ago (5-21.)
9 weeks old
weight: 14lbs 8oz 95th-99th%
length: 23 3/4" 75%
Go big boy!
He had his first set of vaccinations. Poor little guy ran a low-grade fever for nearly a week. He felt rotten. I am not looking forward to the four month shots!
Overall, he's doing great. He's sleeping, napping and at night, in his crib now. I was afraid he'd outgrow the bouncy seat before we moved him to his bed! The prevacid is still helping with the reflux pain. The spitting up is still there... you never know when you're going to get hosed by baby spit-up. Logan says "uh-oh, spit!" when Miles spits up.
He started laughing aloud at 9weeks. It's so cute and of course he thinks his mommy is so funny! (duh!)
I was beginning to pull my hair out because since birth, Miles has nursed every two hours. It's like the boy has a clock with an alarm that's set for exactly two hours. It never failed, he began fussing to eat. So, over the last 2 or so weeks, I've really been trying to get him to stretch for three hours. Of course, baby boy was having none of that! Then for some reason, on Monday he started going three hours between nursing. Hallelujah! I'm so ecstatic with this recent development.
Miles' bedtime has been between 8-9pm since about 6 weeks. He pretty much put himself to bed then. As of a few days ago, he's upped his bedtime to about 7:30pm. So now both children go to bed at about the same time! It makes life a little bit interesting when Jordan's out-of-town. However, it is nice once they're both asleep to have a little downtime.
I have one more thing to brag about... I can put Miles down awake in his bed and he'll fall asleep on his own! Anyone that's had a baby knows how nice that is. Let's hope it continues!

Here are some pictures from last week (10weeks)

He's definitely a big little guy... but not pudgy, fat-roll big =)

Two Months (8 weeks)

Miles turned two months old yesterday. He's smiling quite often and trying to talk more. He's still a great sleeper and we've actually started transitioning him to his crib and out of the bouncy seat. It's been interesting trying to get his mattress elevated and while at the same time, attempting to keep him from sliding to the bottom of the crib. We're hoping he outgrows the reflux soon! He has his 2 mth checkup on thursday, so it will be interesting to see how much he weighs and what his length is. I'm betting he's around 14lbs. He is a substantial little guy!

family photos!

About three weeks ago, we had some family photos taken. Miles was about 41/2 weeks old. Logan was not super cooperative. She wanted nothing to do with the camera! Here are a handful of my favorites. To see them better, click on the collage and it will enlarge.
